Our Father's Day show last year went so well that the Belly Up has graciously invited us back for a repeat celebration of my long and...when I look at it from a more mature perspective ....truly amazing career.
From a not-particularly talented aspiring guitarist in the East Bay area of Northern CA, I went from playing Beatles tunes in matching gold suits to playing countless shows at the Fillmore with Sly Stone, Jeff Beck, Ten Years After, and B.B. King to jamming with John Lee Hooker and Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac to touring, recording, and writing tunes with Van Morrison, Steve Miller, Greg Kihn, the Electric Flag, and....finally, moving to San Diego to a rich and varied musical scene where I have cultivated a marvelous fan base playing some of the greatest clubs in the world and, most importantly, becoming part of a lovely, generous community of amazing musicians.
Four platinum albums later, being a part of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and and playing with energy I never expected to have as I turn 70, this is going to be a show you'll remember forever. I'll be surrounded by the cream of the San Diego music scene. Last year's show was explosive and this year will be even better. There'll be some surprises. This is an honor few musicians experience: people usually wait until you're dead to say nice things about you at your funeral. I get to hear it while I'm still ticking!
See you there: last year was a near sell-out and word-of-mouth is going to insure an even bigger crowd. Get your tickets NOW!
